I hear a lot of people saying that they want to root their device only because they want to change the homescreen or 'search bar' style... So, why not to change the default launcher that you' re using? I have tried all of the released launchers and I have to admit that the android interface is better than the default one...! Here I have a list  of my preferences:

1) Apex Launcher (4.4/5) ->Tablet / Phone

    This launcher has a lot of customization settings. In my opinion it is the best of all. You can define the         number of homescreen pages, you can add a 'dock' at the bottom, change the scrolling settings and so on..! Especially for tablets is the best solution! Try it!!!

2)Nova Launcher (4.6/5) -> Phone

    Although it is a very good launcher, I had a lot of problems using it on my tablet. The interface wasn't so good and that's why I suggest it for phones only.

I want to be strict, so I don't suggest any other launcher apps! :P These two are the best launcher apps, so... try them!!!
